on farewell lunch-marketing students

I was just back from a farewell lunch of final year student of marketing. I did teach them last two sems and frankly speaking I’m not so close with them except for one student who always friendly greets me with warm smile.

We arrived quite late and I just threw smile for some of them and went straightly to the table that are ready for us. Start eating without bothering much on students.

Once finished (actually we did not fully complete the meals as most of us look discomfort with surroundings – student start making noise, taking picture here and there..) my frens made quick move to leave the hall. Me, realized that students started queuing to greet lecturers stop my frens as we have to stand in line as well.

They came towards, shaking hand and hugging us. And for sudden I felt all the cold feelings turn into sad on thinking that they’re going to leave us and start living on their own..mencuba nasib di luar sana. This makes me remember what Covey said on love:

love is a verb. Love — the feeling — is a fruit of love, the verb. So love her. Serve her. Sacrifice. Listen to her. Empathize. Appreciate. Affirm her. Are you willing to do that?
